This is Glenmore Lodge, in Keswick. It's a pine log cabin set in a small park of them, up near the foot of Latrigg. You can walk into Keswick town centre from here in about fifteen minutes, maybe twenty. It means you're close to the shops and pubs, but you're not right in the middle of it.
The cabin sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, not particularly fancy.
The view from the main room is towards Skiddaw. There's a terrace out the patio doors. The site is landscaped, so it's neat.
There's parking right outside the cabin. Inside, you've got the usual stuff: a washing machine, dishwasher, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, I'm afraid.
You're right on the edge of the fells here. A walk up Latrigg is pretty straightforward and the view over Keswick and Derwentwater is worth it. For bigger walks, Skiddaw is behind you, and the paths onto the rest of the Northern Fells are close by.
Keswick has everything: supermarkets, outdoor shops, cafes, a lot of pubs. The theatre by the lake sometimes has shows. Derwentwater is a five minute drive, or a slightly longer walk. You can get launch boats from there.
For a day out, driving over the Honister Pass to Buttermere is good. Or go the other way, through Borrowdale. Both are well under half an hour. The National Trust looks after a lot of the land around here, and the Lake District National Park site has walking routes and information.
