This is Glenmore Lodge. It's on Burnside Park, a small site just outside Keswick. You can see Skiddaw from the garden.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and functional but don't expect anything flashy.
You've got a patio with garden furniture. Inside there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, that sort of thing. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking next to the lodge.
The site is quiet. You're right at the bottom of Latrigg, which is a nice easy walk to start with if you're new to the fells. Keswick town centre is about a 15-20 minute walk down the hill. It's close enough to pop in for a pint or to get supplies, but you're away from the main bustle.
From there, you're right in it. You can walk up Skiddaw from the back of the site if you're feeling energetic. Or drive a few minutes to Catbells. For a longer day, Derwentwater and Borrowdale are just down the road. The Lake District National Park site has good walking routes.
Keswick has the usual shops, a cinema, a few museums. The pencil museum is a thing, if it rains. There's a leisure centre with a pool. Further out, within about half an hour, you've got places like Grasmere, Ambleside, and Buttermere. Ullswater is about a 25 minute drive.
No pets, sorry. We do have a cot and highchair if you need them.
