The Birches is a semi-detached house on the edge of Keswick. It's about a ten minute walk into the town centre, all on the flat.
It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms, with two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The garden is a good size and fully enclosed, which is handy if you've got dogs or kids.
Inside, it's spread over three floors. There are two separate living rooms, which is useful if people want to do different things. The kitchen has a dishwasher and there's a utility room with a washing machine. The stairs are a bit steep, being an old house. You get views of the fells from the top floor.
You can walk into Keswick for shops and pubs. Derwentwater is right there. You can get a boat across and walk up Catbells from the other side. The Theatre by the Lake is good if you fancy a show.
A bit further out, the Lakes Distillery is about eight miles for tours. Bassenthwaite Lake is the same sort of distance.
The facilities are all there: parking, wifi, bedding, towels, a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
