The Birches
The Birches is in Keswick, on the edge of town. It's a semi-detached house, sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and works well for a group. There are three floors, so there are stairs. They're normal house stairs.
The garden is enclosed. It's lawn. Good if you've got a dog, or if kids want to run around. You can sit out on the patio.
It's about a ten minute level walk into Keswick centre. You can leave the car. The town has shops, pubs, a couple of museums. The Theatre by the Lake is good. The Alhambra is a proper old cinema.
For walking, you're right in it. You can walk to Derwentwater. You can get a boat from there over to the start of the Catbells path. For bigger days, Skiddaw is right behind the town. Helvellyn is about half an hour's drive.
Within about half an hour you've got Bassenthwaite Lake, the Lakes Distillery, and the Wildlife Park there. Thirlmere and Ullswater aren't far either.
It's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. You can bring up to two dogs. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
