Dodd
It's called Dodd. It's a new, detached lodge on our farm near Bassenthwaite. It's part of a working beef and sheep farm, so you'll see the animals about. It's quiet here.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one is a kingsize with an ensuite shower and a walk-in wardrobe. The other is a twin. There's a separate family bathroom too.
The main living area is all open plan: kitchen, dining, living room. It feels spacious. There's a big deck outside with good views of the fells, Skiddaw is right there. You get private parking.
You're about a mile from Bassenthwaite Lake itself. The village is just over a mile away and has a decent pub. Keswick is about seven miles. That's where you'll find the main shops and places to eat.
If you're walking, you're well placed. Skiddaw, Catbells, Latrigg are all within easy reach. For something different, the Lake District Wildlife Park is a couple of miles away, and the Lakes Distillery is nearby too.
Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and all bedding and towels. The property has a 4 Star rating. No pets, sorry.
