Dodd is a lodge on our farm in Scarness, near Bassenthwaite. It's new, built in 2023. Detached, so you're on your own. It's peaceful here, just the fields, the sheep, and Skiddaw in the background.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one is a kingsize with its own shower, the other has twin beds. There's a family bathroom too. Everything's open plan downstairs. It's got a 4 star rating, so it's comfortable and well finished.
You get your own parking right outside. There's decking with a table and chairs. The view is straight over the fields to the fells. It’s a working farm, so you might see us with the livestock.
The location is good. Bassenthwaite Lake is about a mile away. The village pub is a twenty minute walk, maybe twenty five. They do food. Keswick is seven miles, that's where you'll find the main shops, restaurants, and Derwentwater.
For walks, you're right in it. You can head up Skiddaw from here if you're fit. Catbells and Blencathra aren't far by car. For something less strenuous, the Lake District Wildlife Park is two and a half miles away. The Lakes Distillery is about the same distance, they do tours.
Inside, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, TV. All the bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry. There's another property next door if you needed to book for more people.
