Two bridleways lead alongside to Binsey Fell, Skiddaw and the Cumbrian Way. Overwater tarn is just a 2-minute walk. Within half an hours walk from Overwater Lodge there is the Sun Inn in Bassenthwaite village and the Snooty Fox and Mae’s Tearoom and Gallery in Uldale serving good food. Overwater Hall Hotel with its first class restaurant is a 2-minute walk.
With an abundance of bird life, the occasional red squirrel and deer, Overwater Lodge enjoys a truly tranquil location.
Nearby there is sailing on Bassenthwaite Lake, Lake District Wildlife Park, Mirehouse Historic House Gardens and Osprey viewpoint.
