The Tottsie
The Tottsie is in Bassenthwaite. It's a 17th-century terraced cottage, one of a row of five. It's quiet.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms: one bathroom, one shower room. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. The stairs are normal for a cottage like this, so they're a bit steep.
The living room has a wood burner. The kitchen does the job. What you come for is the view. From the upstairs bedrooms you look out over fields toward Bassenthwaite Lake and the fells. You can see Skiddaw. It's a good view.
There's a private garden at the end of the row. It's lawned with a patio and furniture. Behind the cottage is a wood. We get red squirrels there, and birds of prey.
There are two pubs within a couple of miles. They do food. The Lakes Distillery is nearby if you want a tour. For a day out, Keswick is about eight miles. It's on Derwentwater and has shops and places to eat. Cockermouth is seven miles away.
Inside, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs.
