6 Ladstock Hall is in Thornthwaite, about three miles from Keswick. It's a first floor apartment in what used to be a country house hotel. You don't get the whole building to yourselves, it's one of several places here.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's done to a high standard. Everything is in good order.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out across the valley towards Skiddaw. The living room is big and has a bay window with chairs pointed at the view. There's a spotting scope for watching ospreys over Bassenthwaite Lake.
The kitchen is large and has a big table. It's well equipped.
Thornthwaite is at the foot of Whinlatter Forest. You can walk straight onto a bridleway from the back of the hall. Braithwaite village is under a mile away, it has a shop and a few pubs. For mountain biking, the trails at Whinlatter Forest are very good.
Keswick is a short drive for bigger shops. Bassenthwaite Lake is close by, and you're well placed for the Newlands Valley and Borrowdale.
Facilities: there's parking on site, a washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot available. No pets.
