Squirrel’s Retreat
Squirrel's Retreat is an apartment at the back of our house. It's got its own front door, so it's private. It's for two people.
It's one open-plan room with the living, kitchen and dining space together, then a separate bedroom and a bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating. The big window looks out over our garden and the woods. You can see a bit of the lake and the fells between the trees. We get red squirrels, woodpeckers, and ospreys in the spring.
Outside, there's a small patio with a couple of chairs. It's quiet out there.
You're right on the edge of Whinlatter Forest. The path into the forest is about fifty yards from your door. They have walking and mountain bike trails. If you walk the other way, down the lane, you get to Bassenthwaite Lake in about ten minutes. Skiddaw is the big hill you can see. It's a proper walk if you want to go up.
Keswick is the nearest proper town, about four miles away. It's got shops, places to eat, a cinema, and the theatre by the lake. The closest pub is about three miles.
What's here: there's parking, WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher, and all the bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry. You can store bikes. We've also got another place called The Coach House on the property if you're coming with more people.
