Squirrel’s Retreat
Squirrel's Retreat is an apartment at the back of our house in Powter How. You have your own door to get in and out. It's for two people.
It's all one open room really, with the kitchen, living area, and a table. The big window looks out onto the woods and our garden. You can sometimes see the lake and the fells from it. We get a lot of red squirrels, and woodpeckers. The ospreys come back to the lake every spring.
The bedroom is separate, off the main room. It has the same view. The bathroom has a walk-in shower.
Outside your door there's a little patio with a couple of chairs. It's a quiet spot to sit.
You're right on the edge of Whinlatter Forest. The path starts practically from the gate. It's good for walking and they've got proper mountain bike trails. Bassenthwaite Lake is about a ten-minute walk down the lane. Skiddaw is there if you want a bigger walk.
Keswick is the nearest town, about ten minutes in the car. It's got all the shops, cafes, and pubs. The Theatre by the Lake is there if the weather turns.
It's got a 4 Star rating. There's parking, WiFi, a dishwasher, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
