Fell View Lodge is one of the cabins at Burnside Park, just outside Keswick. It's a pine lodge, so it's like a little wooden cabin. It sleeps two, one bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which is about right. It's comfortable and clean, not luxury.
It looks out over the fells. The view is the main thing. The site is at the bottom of Latrigg, so you're basically right in the hills. You can walk into Keswick town centre from here. It's easy to get to the shops and pubs, but you're away from the main traffic.
The cabin has a small enclosed patio area with a table and chairs. Good for a morning coffee. Inside, it's got what you need: a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside.
You're on the edge of the town but the walking starts straight from the gate. You can go up Latrigg easily, or get onto Skiddaw if you're feeling more ambitious. Derwentwater is about a twenty minute walk down into town and then along.
If you want to drive, it's a good base for the northern lakes. Borrowdale is about ten minutes one way, Ullswater maybe twenty the other. The A66 gets you to Penrith or the west coast in under an hour.
