Siskin is a town house in Keswick. It's just off the main street, so you can walk to everything in a few minutes. Having private parking right there is a big plus. You don't get that with many places in town.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. We've renovated it, so everything's fresh.
The patio is out the back. It gets the sun in the afternoon. You can sit out there with a drink.
You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are provided. There's a cot if you need one, and WiFi.
Keswick is great for a holiday base. All the shops, pubs, and cafes are a short walk away. Boats on Derwentwater, the Pencil Museum, all that.
For walks, you can step straight onto the fells from the house. Latrigg is a good starter. Catbells is a bit more of a proper climb. The lake is about a fifteen minute walk.
If you want to drive out, Borrowdale and Buttermere are within half an hour. Honister Slate Mine is up the road. The National Trust looks after a lot of the land around here. The Lake District National Park site has walking routes and information.
