Saddleback
Saddleback is our cottage in Keswick. It's a mid-terrace house, so it's one in the middle of a row. The area's quiet, it's just houses. You're a ten minute walk to the shops in the town centre, mostly on the flat.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One's an ensuite. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean, but don't expect anything luxurious. It's over three floors, so the stairs are a bit steep and winding. That's just how these old places are.
You get a small patio garden out the back. There's parking for one car right outside.
Facilities are all there: wifi, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
There's a pub about five minutes walk away. It does food.
You're right in the middle of everything here. Derwentwater is maybe a twenty minute walk from the door. You can get a boat from there. The theatre by the lake does films and shows.
For walking, you can start right from the town. Latrigg is a good first hill. For the bigger fells, Skiddaw is behind you and the Newlands Valley is a short drive away. Helvellyn is about half an hour by car.
