Cropple Howe is in Threlkeld. It's up a bit of a slope, so the views from the front are good. You can see the fells from the windows. It's a stone semi-detached, one of a pair.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 3 Star cottage. It's clean and warm, but not luxurious. The TV works and there's wifi. There's a woodburner in the living room, which you'll need to sort the wood and firelighters for. We leave a starter bag for you.
The garden is enclosed. There's parking for one car on the drive.
Threlkeld village has two pubs, both about a five minute walk away. They do food and real ales. You can walk straight out from the cottage onto the fells.
Keswick is four miles west. It's got the usual shops, supermarkets, and a cinema. You're right by Blencathra, if you're a walker. The Northern Lakes are easier from here than if you're stuck down in Windermere.
You're about twenty minutes' drive from Ullswater. Aira Force waterfall is up there. The National Trust looks after it. For a bigger day out, you can get to Buttermere or Grasmere in under half an hour, traffic depending.
We allow up to two dogs. There's a cot in the cupboard under the stairs if you need it. All bedding and towels are included.
