Hazel's Cottage

Hazel's Cottage is in Keswick, down a small lane. It's an old coach house, from the 1800s. It's two minutes from the town centre and you can hear the rain on the slate roof, which I like.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's warm and everything works. There's a washing machine, Wi-Fi, and parking right outside.

The lane is quiet but you're basically in town. Shops are ten yards away, pubs and restaurants are about a hundred. It's handy.

Fitz Park is five minutes walk. It's good for a stroll. Derwentwater is about the same. You can get boat trips there. Keswick.org has details on the launches.

You can take one dog. The park is close by for walks. We leave a stairgate and can put a cot or highchair in if you need it.

For planning, The Lake District National Park site is best for walks and maps. The National Trust in the Lakes covers a lot of the bigger houses and fells nearby, like Borrowdale.
