This is Catbells Cottage in Keswick. It’s right in the town centre, which is handy, but the main thing is the view from the bedrooms. You get a proper view of the fells. You can walk out the front door and be on the high street, or look out the back at the hills.
It’s a small, traditional terrace cottage. It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There’s a twin room and a kingsize room at the top. The bathroom’s on the first floor and has a shower over the bath. The stairs are the original cottage stairs. They’re steep and narrow, with a turn at the bottom. You need to watch your step.
The living room is a good size, with a sofa and an electric fire. The kitchen has what you need: oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher. There’s a small patio area out the back with a table and chairs.
You’re a two minute walk from the market square. All the shops, cafes, and pubs are right there. The bus stop from Penrith station is practically opposite the front door.
For walking, you can be on the path around Derwentwater in about ten minutes on foot. Catbells itself, the fell it’s named after, is a short drive or a decent walk away. The whole of the northern Lakes is on your doorstep. For planning, the National Trust Lake District site is useful, and the Lake District National Park site has good maps and advice.
Included in the price is the linen, the electricity, and the wifi. There’s a TV and a washing machine. Parking is on street with a permit we provide. We can leave a travel cot out if you need one. No pets.
