Blease Cottage

Blease Cottage is in Threlkeld, about five miles from Keswick. It's an old farm worker's place, over 250 years old. It's pretty small and sleeps three. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable but it's still a cottage.

The stairs are a point. They're uneven and a bit steep, and part of them is a narrow spiral. You need to pay attention on them.

You're right at the bottom of Blencathra. You can walk straight out the door onto the fells. There are easier walks around the village too, or you can follow the old railway path into Keswick if you want something flat. For a proper challenge, Blencathra and Skiddaw are right there.

The village has two pubs, both a couple of minutes walk away. They're old, from the 1600s. They do food and real ale. There's a bus that goes to Keswick and Penrith. The nearest shop is in Keswick.

Inside, it's got a woodburning stove which is good for cooler evenings. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine, a garden, and parking. WiFi is there. No pets.
