Blease Cottage

Blease Cottage is in Threlkeld, at the foot of Blencathra. It's about five miles from Keswick. It's an old farm worker's cottage, so it's not huge, but it's been done up nicely inside. It sleeps three people.

There are two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, which is normal for a place this old. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well kept. There's a woodburning stove, which is good for colder evenings.

You can walk to two pubs from the cottage, it's only a few minutes. They both do food. There's a level path along the old railway into Keswick if you fancy a flat walk. Or you can just head straight out onto the fells from the door. The bus service through the village is decent if you don't want to drive.

Keswick is a short drive away for shops and the lake. For a bigger day out, Hadrian's Wall is about a 40 minute drive. The northern lakes, like Ullswater, are easily reachable within half an hour.

It's got a washing machine and a dishwasher. There's parking right outside. The garden is small, just a patio area really. No pets allowed.

If you're planning walks, the Lake District National Park site has all the maps and routes.
