Cobble Rigg is in Threlkeld, up by Blencathra. It's a detached 'chalet-style' house, so it's on its own. The garden is enclosed, which is handy.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, which helps with the morning queue. I'd call it comfortable more than luxurious. It's got a 4 Star rating. There are some open, steep stairs, just a heads-up.
The main thing here is the location. You're right at the foot of Blencathra. You can walk straight out the door and up onto the fells. The views from the back, especially from the conservatory, are all of the mountain. It's very quiet.
Threlkeld's a small village. There's a local pub about 500 yards away. There's also a village café. The shop is about four miles away in Keswick, so you'll want to bring supplies or go there first thing.
Keswick itself is about three miles. You can walk there by a footpath, or drive in a few minutes. They've got all the shops, Derwentwater, the theatre, and the usual things.
For other days out, the northern lakes are easy. Ullswater is maybe a 20 minute drive. You can get the steamer there from Glenridding. The A66 is close by for getting around.
The house has what you'd need: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. There's parking for a couple of cars. There's also an electric vehicle charger if you need it. We can provide a travel cot and highchair.
