The Coach House is in Keswick. It's a detached house that used to be a coach house, built about a hundred years ago. You can still see where they used to tether the horses outside if you look at the walls.
It sleeps ten people. There are five bedrooms, four doubles and a twin, and three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating because it's well looked after. There are two living rooms. One is a snug downstairs with an open fire and doors to the back garden. The other is upstairs, which could be good if the kids want their own space. The kitchen is big and open plan, with an Aga and an island. The table seats ten.
You're at the bottom of Chestnut Hill. It's about a fifteen minute walk into Keswick town centre, maybe three quarters of a mile. You go along the river past Fitz Park. There's a pub about 500 yards away.
Keswick has a market, lots of places to eat, and the usual outdoor shops. The Theatre by the Lake is on Derwentwater, which is also where you can hire boats. For something different, there's the Puzzling Place or the Pencil Museum in town. For a day out, the Lake District Wildlife Park and The Lakes Distillery are about eight miles away, up near Bassenthwaite.
You're right in walking country. Latrigg is basically on your doorstep. Catbells, Skiddaw, Blencathra and Helvellyn are all within a half hour drive for a proper walk.
The house has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair. You can bring up to four pets. The garden is enclosed.
