3 Catherine Cottages

It's called 3 Catherine Cottages. It's in Keswick, on a quiet little street that doesn't go anywhere. It's a stone cottage, sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom.

It's got a four star rating. I'd say it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. It was all done up recently and the kitchen was new in spring last year.

The living room has a gas fire in a big old fireplace. It's set up with a smart TV, some maps, and books about walking. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, as you’d expect.

There's a small garden out the back. It's walled in. It has a table and chairs. You get a parking space next to the cottage.

You don't need a car while you're here, really. It's a five minute walk on the flat into Keswick town centre. All the shops, pubs and restaurants are there. You can walk down to Derwentwater in about fifteen minutes. You can hire boats or go paddleboarding there. There's a theatre by the lake too.

Fitz Park is very close. It has a playground, bowling green, and a cricket ground. Hope Park is about ten minutes walk. They have putting greens and a cafe.

If you want to walk from the door, you can go up Latrigg. It's a small fell, takes about an hour to get up. The view from the top is the whole of Keswick and the valley. It's a good start.

For a longer day, you're right in the middle of everything. Borrowdale is a short drive south. The north lakes, like Ullswater, are about twenty minutes away by car. Thirlmere and Helvellyn are to the east.

The facilities are what you'd need: wifi, washing machine, bedding and towels are all there. No pets, I'm afraid.
