3 Catherine Cottages
It's called 3 Catherine Cottages. It’s in a quiet bit of Keswick, at the end of a little road. The cottage itself is made from the local grey stone. It’s got its own small garden out the back with a table and chairs. You can park right next to it.
It sleeps four people in two bedrooms. There’s one bathroom. It’s a 4 Star place, which means it’s been well looked after and is comfortable. We had a lot of work done on it a couple of years ago, including the kitchen.
The living room has a gas fire in an old stone fireplace, which is nice in the evening. There’s a smart TV and we keep some maps and walking books there for people to use.
You can walk into Keswick town centre in about five minutes. It’s flat all the way. Everything you need is there: pubs, restaurants, shops. The River Greta and Fitz Park are even closer, just a couple of minutes away.
From the house, you can walk straight up onto Latrigg. It’s a small fell but the view from the top is the full Keswick panorama. Takes about an hour up and back. Derwentwater is about a fifteen minute walk. You can hire boats there, or just walk around it.
The facilities are all straightforward. Washing machine, WiFi, parking. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, I’m afraid.
