The Hoggest
The Hoggest is a detached stone cottage in Threlkeld. It was a farm building. It's on its own, so you won't have neighbours on the other side of a wall. The main thing is the views. You get a full circle of them, looking out at Blencathra and over to St John's in the Vale.
It sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy. We've had it rated as a 5 Star place, so it's got good quality things and is well looked after.
The living space is all open plan. There are big doors that fold back on a sunny day. There's a wood burner for the evenings. The kitchen has what you need. Outside, there's a patio area and a hot tub.
Threlkeld village is about a twenty minute walk. There are two pubs there that do food. There's a local golf course. Keswick is only a ten minute drive away for bigger shops, the cinema, and things like that. You can walk straight onto the fells from the cottage.
For facilities: it's got parking, wifi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. We can provide a cot and highchair. Bedding and towels are included. Sorry, no pets.
If you're planning walks or days out, the Lake District National Park site is useful. The National Trust looks after a lot of the local land and houses.
