Katellen Cottage is a detached stone cottage, just outside Threlkeld village. It's on a lane that heads up towards the hills.
It sleeps six, but it's two proper bedrooms plus a sofa bed in the living space. There's one bathroom, a wet room with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining, and sitting area all together. The ceilings are high with old beams, and there's a multi-fuel burner in there. The floors are oak. It feels solid.
The garden at the back is enclosed. It gets the sun in the afternoon and the view is straight across the valley to Blencathra. You can store bikes around the side.
You're about a mile's walk from the village centre. There are two pubs there. The Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum is literally a couple of minutes walk up the lane. They've got a little train and tours.
For walks, you can start from the door. Thirlmere reservoir is about four miles down the road, which is one way onto Helvellyn. Keswick is five miles away for shops, places to eat, and the Theatre by the Lake. Castlerigg Stone Circle is on the way into Keswick, just off the road. Keswick Golf Club is about a mile and a half away.
Inside, you've got a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
