Creldan House

Creldan House is on Station Road, near the entrance to Fitz Park. It’s a five minute walk into the centre of Keswick from here.

It’s a Victorian terrace house. It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one downstairs and one on the lower ground floor. One bedroom is on the ground floor too, so it works for someone who doesn’t want to tackle stairs.

It’s got a 4 Star rating. That means it’s comfortable and well looked after. It’s got nice things like a dishwasher, a washing machine, and a woodburning stove. There’s Wi-Fi and towels are included. There’s also a cot if you need one.

The garden is a patio area out the front, with a table and chairs. It’s quite small but it gets the sun.

From the house, you walk down through Fitz Park and you’re at Derwentwater in about ten minutes. Keswick town centre has lots of shops, pubs and cafes. It’s a proper market town.

For walking, you can go straight out the door. Walla Crag and Latrigg are both very close. Skiddaw and Catbells are a short drive away. The Lake District National Park website has all the route information.

For rainy days, Keswick has the Pencil Museum or the Cars of the Stars Museum. For trips out, you can drive up the Borrowdale valley, over Honister Pass, or to places like Grasmere and Ambleside. All are within about a 30 minute drive.

Useful sites for planning: the National Trust Lake District page for their properties and walks, and Keswick.org for local events.
