3 Barf Cottages

3 Barf Cottages is in Portinscale. It's an end terrace house on a quiet lane that doesn't go anywhere.

The house sleeps six. It's got three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One's a shower room. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well kept and everything works properly.

We extended it a few years back. The main sitting room is cosy, with a wood burner. The kitchen is modern and has a dishwasher. There's a separate garden room we use for dining, with big windows looking out over the garden to the fells. The floors are mostly wood.

The garden is yours to use. There's parking for one car on site.

Portinscale itself has a couple of marinas, a few cafes and a pub that does food. You can walk into Keswick along the footpath. It's about a mile. Keswick has all the shops, pubs and a cinema.

For days out, Derwentwater is just there. Cat Bells is a popular walk. You can drive to Borrowdale or Buttermere in about ten or fifteen minutes. The Lake District National Park site has good information on walking routes. The National Trust also looks after a lot of the local land.

Inside, there's a washing machine. Wi-Fi is included. Bedding and towels are provided. There’s a cot if you need one. We can’t accept pets.
