Quiet Ways
Quiet Ways is in Portinscale, just outside Keswick. It's a detached house, so there are no neighbours through the wall. It's got a garden that's enclosed, so it's private.
It sleeps six people, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps with a full house. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. The ground floor has two of the bedrooms and a bathroom, which is useful if stairs are a problem. The stairs themselves are fine.
There's been some work done. The kitchen is new for this year, and there are new carpets in the main rooms. It's got WiFi and you can stream to the TV if you want. There's a conservatory that gets the sun.
The village is quiet. There's a shop and a restaurant about 100 yards away, and a pub even closer. You can walk to Derwent Water in a few minutes. If you want to go into Keswick, it's about a mile and a half on foot through the fields, or a very short drive.
Everything you'd need is in the house: washing machine, dishwasher, parking on site. Bedding and towels are provided. We accept up to two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you're bringing little ones.
For walking, you're right in it. Cat Bells is across the lake and Skiddaw is behind you. For planning days out, the Lake District National Park site has all the information. The National Trust looks after a lot of the local land.
