You're about a three minute walk into the middle of Keswick. All the shops, cafes, and pubs are right there. Derwentwater and the lake are a ten minute stroll. The views of the fells from town are as good as the postcards show.

For walking, you're straight onto the paths. The Lake District National Park site has all the route information. You can drive to places like Grasmere, Dove Cottage, or Buttermere in under half an hour.
