Long Rose
Long Rose is a terraced house in Keswick, so you're right in the middle of the town. It's not a remote cottage, you step out the door onto the street. The back yard is enclosed and you can park a car in it, which is useful in Keswick.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The stairs are steep, just to be clear. They're typical for this sort of house.
You're a couple of minutes' walk from the main shops and pubs. Fitz Park and the River Greta are just at the bottom of the road. For a walk, you can be up Latrigg in no time. Catbells is across the lake, and you can see Skiddaw from the town.
The Theatre by the Lake is on the water's edge. You can hire rowing boats on Derwentwater. Keswick has all the outdoor shops you'd need, plus cafes and restaurants.
For bigger walks, Blencathra and Helvellyn are within a half hour drive. The Whinlatter forest is about 15 minutes away for cycling.
Facilities: it's got a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. The entrance is wheelchair accessible but the bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs.
