Squirrel Nutkin is in Keswick. It's a two-bedroom end-terrace cottage, so you have a wall on one side and a garden on the other. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you've got a dog.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's been refurbished recently. It feels modern and clean. The stairs are a bit tight, you know, like most old cottages up here.
You're about a five-minute walk from the main shops and places to eat in Keswick. You go through Fitz Park to get there, which is nice. The park has a play area and tennis courts.
If you want a walk from the door, you can get onto Latrigg or follow the old railway line path. For something bigger, Skiddaw is right there. The leisure pool is very close, and so is the Keswick Adventure Centre if you're into climbing or ghyll scrambling.
Derwentwater is a short drive or a slightly longer walk. You can get a launch boat from there. The National Trust has a lot of the land around the lake. For a bigger day out, you're on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Buttermere, Grasmere, and Ullswater are all within about half an hour by car.
What's in the cottage: there's a dishwasher, a washing machine, WiFi, and parking for one car out the front. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
