Shepherds Bield is on our farm in Scales, near Threlkeld. It's a flat attached to our farmhouse, but you've got your own door at the side. It's a working beef and sheep farm, so you'll see the animals and hear the usual farm sounds during the day.
It's for two people. One bedroom and a shower room on the ground floor. The living room and kitchen are downstairs, so it's an upside-down layout. You get a view of the northern fells from the living room window. The sofa reclines.
There's a small enclosed garden out the front with artificial grass and a table. The hot tub is out there too.
Threlkeld village is about a mile away, it's got a couple of good pubs. Keswick is about five miles. That's where you'll find most of the shops and places to eat. The Theatre by the Lake is there, right on Derwentwater.
You're basically at the foot of Blencathra. The fell is right there if you want to walk up it. For other walks, Skiddaw isn't far, and Helvellyn is about a 30-minute drive. Keswick has boat hire on the lake. If you drive the other way, Penrith is about 20 minutes.
What's included: bedding and towels, parking, the TV, the washing machine. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. No pets, sorry.
