The Old Workshop is in Keswick, on a quiet street about five minutes' walk from the main shops. It's a terraced house that used to be a workshop, hence the name. You get a private parking space out the front.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is useful if you've got a few couples or a family. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, not a show home.
The layout is open plan downstairs. The stairs are a standard staircase, not a steep cottage one. The third bedroom is a decent double but it has a lower ceiling because of the roof line, so just be mindful if you're very tall.
You're right in Keswick, so you can walk to everything. The pub is a few minutes away. The town has all the usual outdoor shops, cafes, and a big Co-op. The Theatre by the Lake is a nice spot for a show, right on Derwentwater.
For getting out, you're in a good spot. Latrigg is a straightforward walk from the house for a good view. Catbells is just across the lake. For bigger walks, Skiddaw and Blencathra are right there. Helvellyn is about a 30-minute drive.
If the weather's bad, the Pencil Museum in town is surprisingly interesting. The Lakes Distillery and the Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite are both a short drive away.
Facilities: it has a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
