Greenbank
Greenbank is in Keswick, about fifteen minutes walk from the town centre. It sleeps ten in five bedrooms. There are two bathrooms and a cloakroom downstairs. The rating is 4 Star.
It's a big house, good for families or a group of friends walking. You can fit a few cars on the drive.
The back has a patio area with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the evening. It's enclosed, so it's fine for children or a dog.
We take one well-behaved dog. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. All bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher.
You can walk into Keswick easily. It takes about a quarter of an hour. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops. A lot of people park the car for the week and just walk from the house.
The fells start almost from the doorstep. Latrigg is a nice easy start, or you can head up Skiddaw or Blencathra if you want something bigger. Derwentwater is about a twenty minute walk.
If you drive, you're in the middle of the Northern Lakes. Buttermere, Borrowdale, and Ullswater are all within half an hour.
