This is La'al Gem in Keswick. It's a bungalow, and it's semi-detached. It's at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, so there's a bit more garden and it feels quite private. You get the feeling of being out of town, but you're only a couple of minutes' walk from the shops.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. It's not a fancy hotel.
You can walk down to Derwentwater in about ten minutes. To get up onto the fells, you can pick up the path for Walla Crag almost from the doorstep. Keswick town centre is just down the road for pubs, cafes, and the supermarket.
There's a washing machine, WiFi, and bedding is included. We've left some games and a badminton set for the garden. There's a cot if you need it. You can bring up to two dogs.
For a day out, you're right in the middle of everything. Borrowdale is a short drive south, and Thirlmere and the Helvellyn range are to the east. For planning walks, the Lake District National Park site is really useful. The National Trust looks after a lot of the nearby land and car parks.
