This is Whinny Brow at Burnside Park, which is just outside Keswick. It's a pine log cabin. The site has a few lodges on it.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and in good condition.
The main thing is the view. It looks straight out over fields to the fells, Skiddaw and Latrigg. You can sit out on the extended veranda with a cup of tea and just look at it. The site is landscaped and quiet.
You can walk into Keswick town centre. It takes about 15 or 20 minutes. That means you can easily pop in for dinner or to the shops, but you're away from the main bustle at night.
Being here, you're right at the foot of the fells for walking. Latrigg is practically on the doorstep. Keswick itself is a good base, with boat trips on Derwentwater. For a longer day out, you've got National Trust Borrowdale a short drive away, or you can head up the A66 to Penrith or down to Ullswater, all within half an hour.
The stairs inside are open-tread and a bit steep. It's mentioned in the official description too, so it's worth being aware of.
For facilities: it has a dishwasher, WiFi, parking right outside, and bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need one. The shower is a walk-in type. Sorry, no pets.
For planning walks, Lake District National Park is the main site for information.
