Whinny Brow - Burnside Park

It's a log cabin on the outskirts of Keswick. The location is good because you're on the edge of town, about a fifteen minute walk from the shops, but you're right under Latrigg with a clear view of Skiddaw from the veranda. You get the peace without being miles out.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a walk in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well equipped and comfortable.

The cabin has a big veranda with furniture. The garden is shared with the other cabins on the park, but it's very quiet. Main thing is the view. You're just looking straight at the fells.

Inside, it's a pine cabin so expect that wood feel. It's got everything you'd need: dishwasher, wifi, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot in the cupboard if you need it. No pets allowed.

Keswick has the usual things: supermarkets, outdoor shops, places to eat. Derwentwater is just a ten minute drive. The theatre by the lake is worth a look for events.

For walking, you can start right from the door up Latrigg, or drive a short way to many of the northern fells. Whinlatter Forest is about fifteen minutes away for mountain biking or trails. The coast at St Bees is just under an hour if you fancied a change.
