Apple Tree Cottage
Apple Tree Cottage is in Threlkeld, which is a village just outside Keswick in the Lakes. It's a detached stone cottage.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms and there are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It’s well looked after and comfortable.
The main thing is the location. It's right at the bottom of Blencathra. You get good views from the front and back of the house. You can walk or cycle straight out from the door onto the fells or the C2C cycle route. There's an old railway line path that goes all the way into Keswick, which is about four miles away.
In the village, there are two pubs about a five minute walk away. Both do food. There's a play area and a field just opposite the cottage. The local golf course is half a mile away.
For a bigger shop or more restaurants, you drive into Keswick. It takes about ten minutes. From there you can get to Derwentwater and the rest of the northern fells easily.
The facilities are what you'd expect. It's got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for your car. You can bring one well-behaved dog. We've also got a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them.
