Bag End is in Keswick town centre. It's a first floor apartment, above one of the shops. You can hear a bit of town noise, but it's mostly quiet by evening.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star, which means it's been done up to a good standard. It was empty for years, so we spent a long time restoring it. We kept things like the original range and the stone window, but put in a modern kitchen and bathroom.
The stairs up to it are a normal staircase. The main bedroom is at the back and is quieter. The living room looks out over the street.
You're right in the middle of town. The pub is next door. Shops, cafes, and the market are all on your doorstep. It's about a ten minute walk down to Derwentwater and the theatre. You can start walking straight onto the fells from the door.
Within half an hour's drive you've got places like Castlerigg Stone Circle, which is just outside town, and you can get to parts of the northern Lake District like Borrowdale or up to Aira Force waterfall. Further afield, you're well placed for the Honister Slate Mine or the coast at St Bees.
Facilities: it has WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it. There's one parking space behind the building. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
