Apple Barn is a converted barn in Applethwaite. It's detached, so no neighbours sharing walls. You've got your own garden with a patio. It looks out over fields towards Skiddaw.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. One's a double, the other has twin beds. It's got a 4 Star rating. It was all redone a few years ago, so it's clean and everything works. The ceilings are low in some places, just so you know.
The main living space is upstairs. That was to get the views. You get the kitchen, dining table, and sofa all in one room. The kitchen has a dishwasher.
You can bring one dog. There's parking right by the door. Bedding and towels are included, and there's wifi.
The closest pub is about a mile and a quarter away, in Applethwaite village. Keswick is just under two miles. You can walk it if you like, or it's a five-minute drive. They've got all the shops and restaurants you'd need. There's a good theatre, the Theatre by the Lake, and you can hire boats on Derwentwater. The lake is about two miles from the barn.
For walking, you can get onto the fells from here. Latrigg and Skiddaw are right there. Blencathra and Catbells are a short drive. If you want information on the area, the Lake District National Park site is useful, and the National Trust look after a lot of the land.
Further out, within about half an hour, you've got places like the Lakes Distillery or the Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite. The coast is about 23 miles, so that's a bit more of a trip.
