Lealholme

Lealholme is in Bassenthwaite village, right on the green. It's a link detached cottage, so attached on one side. The view from the front looks straight across to Skiddaw.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It’s all on one floor, which is good for access, and the doors are wide. The garden is enclosed with iron gates. You can park right there. It gets the sun in the afternoon.

The living room has the original wooden panelling and a wood burner. The kitchen has a slate floor and a big electric range cooker. The shower is a good size with two heads.

There's a pub about 200 yards away. It's dog friendly and does food. The local shop is half a mile away, or there's a bigger one in Keswick.

You can walk straight from the door onto the fells. There are quieter paths up Skiddaw from here, and routes around Blencathra. The village has a beck with ducks in it. Bassenthwaite Lake is just over a mile away. You can sometimes see ospreys there.

Keswick is about seven miles, Cockermouth is about the same. Both have plenty of shops and pubs. Whinlatter Forest is close by for mountain biking. The Lakes Distillery is just down the road.

Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. It has a wood burner and a BBQ. You can bring up to four dogs.
