Laundry Cottage is over in High Ireby, which is in the countryside north of Keswick. It's part of a big private estate, so you'll see the main house, Ireby Grange, from the garden. The garden sort of merges into their grounds, there's no fence, so you can walk around the whole estate. That includes Binsey Fell, which you can walk up from the back door.
The cottage itself sleeps seven. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's a step up, well kept and comfortable. It's been modernised but keeps some old features. There's a wood burning stove in the sitting room. The views from there are over the garden to Udale Fell. They are very good.
It's a great spot if you want to just walk out. We get deer and red squirrels around. For a pint, the nearest pub is a drive. Keswick is about a 15 minute drive, Cockermouth about 20. Both are proper market towns with shops and places to eat.
You're well placed for the northern lakes. Bassenthwaite Lake is close. It's about half an hour to get to places like Ullswater or the west coast around St Bees.
For facilities, it's got what you'd need: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there. It takes up to two dogs. There's a cot and highchair if needed.
You can book it together with another cottage on the estate, The Old Stables, if you've got a bigger group.
