Branthwaite Cottage is in the hamlet of Branthwaite, up in Cumbria. It's detached and neighbours a working sheep farm. You'll hear the sheep, and occasionally a tractor go past on the lane. That's about it for noise.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom with a shower. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and has everything you need. It's a proper old cottage though, so mind your head on the shower room doorframe. The stairs are typical for a place like this too.
Inside, there's an open plan kitchen and dining area with a view over the fields. The living room has a wood burner. We provide the first lot of logs. There's a utility room and a separate storage room by the back door, which people use for bikes.
Outside is a paved area with a table and chairs, and a small enclosed garden.
The cottage is in the North Lakes, which is a bit quieter. You can walk straight out onto the Caldbeck Fells from the door. The village of Caldbeck is about ten minutes' drive. It has a pub, a tea room, and some craft shops.
Keswick is roughly half an hour away by car, for shops and things to do. Bassenthwaite Lake is about the same. Carlisle is also within half an hour if you need a city or want to see the castle.
Facilities wise, it's all there: parking, wifi, TV, a dishwasher and washing machine, bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
