Nuthatch Cottage is in Brocklebank, just outside the Lake District National Park boundary. It's a stone-built cottage we've got up here, set in 23 acres of our own land you're welcome to walk on. The views are good: over the fields to the Solway Firth and across to Scotland on a clear day.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable. It's got underfloor heating downstairs and a wood-burning stove for the evenings.
There's a private hot tub on the patio. You get your own garden area as well. We've put in an electric vehicle charging point, which a lot of people seem to find useful now.
Caldbeck village is the nearest proper spot, about ten minutes by car. It's got a pub, a shop, and a tea room. The northern fells around here are quieter than the central Lakes, good for walking without the crowds. The coast at Allonby is about seventeen miles away.
If you want to go further, Carlisle is half an hour's drive for the shops or the castle. Hadrian's Wall sites like Lanercost Priory are about the same distance.
We take up to three dogs. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a cot available. All bedding and towels are included. We've got WiFi, but it's rural broadband, so it's fine for emails but not for streaming films.
