Orchard Cottage

Orchard Cottage is in Brackenthwaite, Cumbria. It's one of a pair of cottages converted from an old barn, next to where I live. It's on the B5305, which is a main road, so you get about easily. The main road access is the plus side. The trade-off is there's some traffic noise.

It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and everything's in good order. It's decorated in a modern style, but you can see some of the old barn features too.

There's a private patio area with a table and chairs. You get parking right outside.

The cottage has all the basics you'd expect: a TV, Wi-Fi, a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. Sorry, but we don't take pets.

For shops and a pub, you need to go about three miles to Caldbeck village. They have a few options there.

Location wise, you're well placed. The Northern Lakes are about a 15 minute drive. Bassenthwaite Lake is close. Keswick is maybe 20 minutes. You can get to the Solway Coast or Hadrian's Wall in half an hour. Scotland isn't much further.
