Orchard Cottage is the one on the end, attached to our place. It’s in Brackenthwaite, just off the B5305. You can hear a bit of road noise if you're outside, but it’s quiet inside.
It’s a one-bedroom place, so sleeps two. One bathroom with a shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s a converted barn, so the ceilings are low in some parts, and the doorways aren’t tall. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re very tall.
You’ve got your own little patio area out the back. It gets the sun in the evening. There’s parking right outside.
Inside, it’s got everything you’d need. A washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and the TV. Bedding and towels are all there.
You can bring one dog. The garden isn’t fully enclosed, so you’d need to keep them on a lead.
The location is good for getting about. The Lake District National Park is about a twenty minute drive. You can be in Keswick or at Bassenthwaite Lake in half an hour. Hadrian’s Wall and the Solway Coast are about the same. Carlisle’s not far if you need a big shop or the train.
The nearest shop and pub are in Caldbeck, three miles up the road. Decent pub food there.
