Blaithwaite Stables is near Woodrow in Cumbria. It's the old stable building for the estate, done up. Sleeps twenty, in eight bedrooms. Seven of them are en-suite. Two bedrooms on the ground floor are wheelchair friendly, and there's a wet room down there too.
The place is detached and you've got the courtyard and orchard to yourselves. There's a kids' play area, a mini-golf course, and a big garden chess set. The estate has about eighty acres altogether, with woodland walks. You might see laser tag set up sometimes.
Inside, it's been renovated but they kept some old things like the range. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything works. There's a big kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine, that sort of thing. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs.
It's a rural spot. The nearest shop is about a mile and a half away. There's a pub two miles down the road. For a restaurant you're looking at five miles.
You're about halfway between Keswick and Carlisle, so you can go either way. The coast at Allonby is about ten miles. For walking, you're not far from the northern fringes of the Lake District or the North Pennines. The National Trust has a few places like Acorn Bank or Fell Foot. The English Heritage site at Carlisle Castle is about twenty minutes' drive.
If you need more space, other cottages on the estate can be booked alongside this one.
