Oaklands

This is Oaklands. It's a bungalow in Langrigg, which is in the north west of the Lake District, up near the Solway coast.

It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy with a group. It's detached and you're on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and tractors about. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and everything works.

Because it's a bungalow, everything's on one level. No stairs. There's parking right outside.

Inside, it's spacious. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights. The heating comes from a biomass boiler, which is a bit different. It's very eco-friendly. Outside, there's a hot tub and a sauna. They're there if you want them.

The village is quiet. There's a pub about a mile away. The nearest shop is two miles.

For getting out, you're well placed. The Solway Coast is about ten miles. Good for golf and birdwatching. Cockermouth and Keswick are both roughly twenty minutes by car. Keswick is busier, on the lake. Cockermouth is a proper market town, Wordsworth's birthplace. Carlisle, Hadrian's Wall and Scotland aren't much further if you fancy a longer drive.

For walks, you've got the Western Fells right there. The National Trust has properties and land all over. The Lake District National Park site is good for planning routes.

In terms of what's here, the list covers it: dishwasher, washing machine, TV, BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. Sorry, no pets.
