The Coach House

The Coach House is on a private estate near Wigton. It's a big, detached place. You get 80 acres of the estate to walk around, mostly woodland. There's a small golf course and a football area. The views are good, over fields.

It sleeps 14. Six bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's set up for groups. One of the bedrooms is downstairs, sleeps four, with a family bathroom off it. The stairs are fine.

The main room is open plan. Big kitchen with an Aga, dining area, and sitting area. The windows are huge, floor to ceiling, and they open right up onto the garden deck. There's a conservatory too.

Downstairs also has a utility room with a washing machine, a boot room, and a separate shower. Upstairs has five bedrooms and a shower room. They all have beams.

Outside, there's a deck with garden furniture and a hot tub. The garden leads onto the estate grounds.

There's a separate games room with a pool table and a piano bar. It's got neon lights. It's a fun room.

For the area, you're between Carlisle and Keswick. Both are about a 25-minute drive. Carlisle has the shops and the castle. Keswick is right in the Lake District, on Derwentwater. The Northern Fells are very close for walking.

Useful links: Lake District National Park and English Heritage for Carlisle Castle.

Practical stuff: It's pet friendly, up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair. Plenty of parking. The heating is underfloor on the ground floor.
