The Coach House
The Coach House is on the Blaithwaite Estate near Waterside. It's a big detached house, sleeps fourteen. Six bedrooms, three bathrooms.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's not a hotel, but it's not supposed to be.
The main thing is the space. The big living area has glass doors on two sides that open onto the garden. The view is fields and trees. There's an Aga in the kitchen, underfloor heating downstairs, and a utility room.
Bedrooms are split. Five are upstairs, one is on the ground floor. That ground floor one has access to a conservatory and the garden. The bathrooms are straightforward. One is a Jack and Jill setup between a bedroom and the hall.
There's also a separate room with a pool table and a bar with neon lights. The hot tub is on the deck outside.
The estate is about eighty acres. You can walk in the woods. There's mini-golf, a kids' play area, and a football field on site. You can book laser tag if you want.
Location wise, you're about halfway between Keswick and Carlisle. Both are a short drive for shops and places to eat. The Northern Fells and the Lake District National Park are right there for walking. The coast is accessible too.
For a bigger group, you can book other houses on the estate as well as this one.
Facilities include all the basics: bedding, towels, washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, cot, highchair. Parking is on site. You can bring up to two dogs.
