Meadow Lodge

Meadow Lodge is up in Yearngill. It's at the end of a farm track, so it's quiet. You look out over fields.

Sleeps eight, four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and has what you need, but it's not a showhome. It used to be a stable. You can see the old sandstone.

The patio's enclosed, which is good if you've got dogs or kids. You get two dogs, from what I'm told.

West Newton village is about a mile and a half for basics. Aspatria's the same distance for a bigger shop. The coast is about five miles. Silloth's up there, it's a proper old Victorian seaside town with a good golf course. Maryport and Whitehaven are south along the coast. They've got marinas and museums about the shipping history.

You're on the edge of the Lake District. Cockermouth is 12 miles, Keswick's a bit further. You drive up alongside Bassenthwaite Lake to get there. The osprey watch point is there if that's your thing. Keswick has shops, a market, and boats on Derwentwater.

For facilities, it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, parking right outside. Everything's on one level inside, which is handy. Bedding is included.
