Grooms Cottage
This is Grooms Cottage in Arkleby, Cumbria. The main thing is the location. It's right on the edge of the Lake District National Park, but you're looking out west over the Solway Firth. Great sunsets over the water there.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. It's semi-detached with another one called The Coach House. They share a big parking area.
You've got your own bit of garden. The whole property sits in big wooded grounds with lawns and an orchard, so it feels private.
Inside, it's got an open plan living space upstairs to make the most of the views. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights, and a dishwasher. All your bedding and towels are included. WiFi, TV, washing machine, parking. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
For a swim, there's a public pool in Cockermouth, about eight miles away. Or there's a private leisure place with a pool and sauna about a ten minute walk from the cottage.
Aspatria village is two miles off for basics. Cockermouth is your proper town for shops, cafes, and pubs. It's about a fifteen minute drive. The coast, the lakes, and the fells are all about fifteen minutes away too, depending which way you go.
