Cockermouth is six miles away. It's a market town. Keswick is fourteen miles, where you've got Derwentwater and lots of outdoor activities. Bassenthwaite Lake is six miles. Buttermere is about twelve miles.
On site, there's a hot tub. There's also a heated swimming pool you can book privately. There's private fishing on the River Ellen, about a mile away, for salmon and trout. Golf and horse riding are nearby.
