This is Halls Bank Farm. It's on the edge of the village of Arkleby, near the Solway coast in Cumbria. You're on a site with a couple of other cottages, so it works well if a bigger group wants to book separately but be near each other.
The cottage sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. Everything you'd need is there. The garden is enclosed. There's a hot tub, which is private for your cottage. You can also book time in a heated swimming pool on the site, but you have to arrange that online separately.
The big thing here is the location. It's quiet, not in the busy centre of the Lakes. You can get to the coast or into the northern fells quite easily. The local pub is about half a mile away. There's a shop two miles away.
The Solway Coast is four miles from here. Allonby beach is good for long walks. Silloth and Maryport are harbour towns along that coast with cafes and shops.
If you want to go into the Lakes proper, Cockermouth is six miles away. Keswick is fourteen miles. Bassenthwaite Lake is six miles, Derwentwater is a bit further. They're good for paddleboarding or just walking around. Buttermere is about twelve miles. Fishing is available on the River Ellen, a mile away. There's a golf course nearby and you can go horse riding locally too.
For facilities, it's all there: WiFi, dishwasher, washing machine, woodburning stove. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a stairgate if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking on site.
