The Snug
The Snug is in Dearham, in West Cumbria. It's a terraced cottage. You've got a small yard out the back with a table.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. The rooms are a good size. The stairs are cottage stairs though, so they're a bit steeper than you'd get in a new house.
There's a pub and a shop a few minutes' walk away. The Newmill pub does food. Maryport harbour is a short drive.
The location is the main thing. You're right between the coast and the Lakes. The Solway coast is about ten minutes west. The beach at Allonby is sandy and you get a great view across to Scotland. The Lake District National Park boundary is about a fifteen minute drive east.
Cockermouth is close. It's a good town for cafes and shops. Keswick and Bassenthwaite Lake are within half an hour. For a day out, you've got the Lake District Wildlife Park and the Lakes Distillery near Bassenthwaite.
Facilities: there's a wood burner, WiFi, a washing machine, and parking outside. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
