Chapel Mouse Cottage is in Cockermouth, on a quiet street. It's a conversion of an old chapel, done a couple of years ago. It's clean and newly finished inside.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. There are some of the original chapel beams in the bedrooms.
You can walk into the town centre in a few minutes. There's a supermarket and a couple of pubs nearby that do food. The National Trust's Wordsworth House is just down the road if you're interested in that.
Cockermouth itself is a proper market town. There are a lot of independent shops, cafes and a couple of micro-breweries. Jennings Brewery is here too, by the castle.
You're right on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Bassenthwaite Lake is about a ten minute drive away. Keswick is about twenty minutes by car. For walking, Whinlatter Forest Park is good, and Buttermere valley isn't far.
If you're a fisherman, there are fishing rights on a beat of the River Derwent included. You just need a national rod licence.
In terms of what's here: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and on-site parking. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
