It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. The bathroom is modern with a walk-in shower. The rating is 3 Star. It's clean and comfortable, not luxurious.

The ceilings downstairs are low. The stairs are also quite steep. There are original beams and a wood burner. The floors are stone. The kitchen has what you need.

The village has a pub about 500 yards away. It serves food. Cockermouth is three miles away for shops and supermarkets.

You're about a mile from the edge of the Lake District National Park. The nearest lake is Loweswater, which is quieter than some of the others. It's good for walking. From there you can get to Crummock Water and Buttermere.

If you want to climb, there are lower fells like Mellbreak nearby. For something bigger, Grasmoor isn't far.

Within about half an hour's drive you can get to Whinlatter Forest for walking or cycling. Keswick is about twenty minutes further on. Bassenthwaite Lake and the wildlife park are about a fifteen minute drive. The coast at St Bees is roughly half an hour away.
