Springlea Cottage
Springlea Cottage is in the village of Deanscales, near Cockermouth. It's a small terraced cottage, quite old. It's been done up carefully.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. That's it. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable but not luxury. The stairs are steep and narrow. That's just how it is.
There's a pub about 500 yards up the road. They do good food. For shops and cafes, Cockermouth is three miles away. It's a proper little town.
You're about a mile from the edge of the Lake District National Park. The nearest lake is Loweswater. It's small and quiet. From there you can walk on to Crummock Water and Buttermere. The fells around here, like Mellbreak and Grasmoor, are good for walking. They're right on your doorstep.
If you want to go further, Keswick is about sixteen miles. Whinlatter Forest is seven miles for mountain biking or walking. The coast at St Bees is roughly fifteen miles.
The cottage has a wood burner, WiFi, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. There's bike storage if you need it.
