Alan's Cottage

Alan's Cottage is a terrace house in Cockermouth. It's about two minutes' walk from the main street. You're right on the edge of town, so it's quiet but you can easily pop out for a pint or to get some shopping.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one with twin beds. One bathroom with a good sized shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's modern and clean inside.

The back door opens onto a small, enclosed patio garden. It gets the morning sun. There's a private parking space right outside, which is handy.

The town centre is very close. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants, and some good independent shops. Jennings Brewery is here if you fancy a tour. Wordsworth's birthplace, Wordsworth House, is just down the road.

You're well placed for getting out. Bassenthwaite Lake is about ten minutes by car. Further south, you've got Loweswater, Crummock Water and Buttermere. They're about a twenty minute drive and the scenery is fantastic.

For a day out, Whinlatter Forest is nearby. They've got walking trails, mountain biking, and a Go Ape course. The Lake District Wildlife Park is at Bassenthwaite too.

The cottage has a dishwasher, a washing machine, a TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. No pets, sorry.
