Tranquil Lodge is on Brigham Holiday Park, just outside Cockermouth. It's a detached lodge, so no shared walls. The park itself is quiet. There's no shop or playground on site, it's just a place to stay.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It was built in 2021, so everything's new and works properly. The main room is open plan, kitchen at one end, sofas at the other.
Outside there's a deck with some chairs. It gets the sun in the morning. Good for a coffee.
Location is the main thing. You're right on the edge of the Lake District. Cockermouth's a couple of miles away. It's a proper town with butchers, bakers, pubs. There's the Jennings Brewery if you like that sort of thing. Wordsworth House is there too.
For outdoors, you're in a good spot. Bassenthwaite Lake is about ten minutes east. Whinlatter Forest is fifteen minutes, maybe twenty. That's got the Go Ape thing and mountain bike trails. The coast at Allonby or Maryport is about a twenty minute drive the other way.
The park is quiet. They don't allow work vans and there's no electric car charging. Just so you know.
Inside, you've got a TV, WiFi, a shower, towels are provided. There's parking right outside. No pets.
