Wilfrida House

Wilfrida House is on one of the main streets in Maryport. It's a big Georgian terrace with a garden out the back.

It sleeps up to ten people. Five bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and well-equipped, but not fancy.

The layout is tall because it's a townhouse. The living room with the TV is on the first floor. The kitchen and dining area is on the ground floor at the back. The stairs are OK, but they are normal stairs for an old house.

Two of the bedrooms are up on the second floor. Then there's another flight of stairs up to the top floor, which has two more bedrooms. That top floor is good for kids. One room has a single bed, the other has three singles and you can see the sea from the window.

You can bring up to two dogs but you'll need to keep them off the furniture. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher.

You're about two minutes' walk from the town centre. There's a supermarket, a few pubs that do food, and some cafes. The harbour and the beach are just down the hill. It's a working harbour, so it's interesting to watch.

For a bigger beach day, Allonby is about fifteen minutes north by car. It's a long sandy beach. The Lake District is about a twenty-five minute drive inland. Keswick and Bassenthwaite Lake are the closest parts.

If you're interested in the local history, the Senhouse Roman Museum is just along the front. For planning walks, the National Trust Cumbria coast page is useful, as is the Lake District National Park site.
