Wilfrida House is a Georgian terrace house on a busy street in Maryport. It sleeps ten, in five bedrooms, and it's got two bathrooms. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious.
The ground floor is an open plan kitchen and diner that leads out to a small enclosed garden at the back. The kitchen is new and has everything you need. Upstairs, the living room is on the first floor. It's a good size, with an open fire and a smart TV. There's also a double bedroom on that floor.
The second floor has two more double bedrooms, one with an ensuite shower. The main family bathroom is there too, with a bath and a separate shower cubicle. Then there's a third floor, which we use as a kids' area. One room has a single bed, the larger one has three singles and a sea view. The stairs to it are quite steep, so it's not ideal for very small children or anyone less mobile.
You're right in the town. It's a two minute walk to the high street for shops, cafes, and pubs. The harbour and the beach are close by for a stroll. You can take dogs on the beach.
From here, you can drive along the coast. The Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a short drive north. Whitehaven is about fifteen minutes south. For a day out, you're about half an hour from the northern lakes like Bassenthwaite and Loweswater. The Lake District National Park authority site is useful for planning. If you're interested in the local history, the Senhouse Roman Museum is just down by the harbour.
Facilities include WiFi, TV, a dishwasher, and parking for one car on the street outside. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
